spending xmas with the linao-tamayo family

paricce and i spent our christmas with the tamayo-linao family.it was one memorable event in paricce life.paricce experienced noche buena although paricce done it before but the part of opening gifts and eating with the whole family makes it fresh for her.
on christmas day, everybody was busy because of giving and receiving their aguinaldo,i felt sorry for paricce at that time because we have no relatives there and i felt paricce will be left-out.but ardee and ruby,Aileen's cousins take good care of paricce they even drag paricce to their relatives asked for her aguinaldo.so happy that even paricce doesn't want to go home.
thank you very much to the tamayo-linao family for one of the best christmas that paricce ever experienced.
looking forward to spend new year with them.

old love...

the guy that i used to love was back here in the manila, after 8 years i'd been able to communicate with him again.he was the first and as of now the last person who made me cry.i never told him at that time my feelings for him and that was one of the biggest regret in my life.i was so hesitant,my pride dominates me and i was so afraid that things between us will change and although i knew that somehow he cares for me too i never said anything to him.
at his despedida, when we were about to leave i still remember that he hold my hand and i just looked at him and smiled.
on the very day that he left the country i was in quiapo church praying and crying.when i left i was thingking only him and i never realized that i was already in blumentritt and i walked from quipo from there.
after a week that he left, eventough i knew that it was already too late to admit my feelings to him i wrote him a letter and confessed everything to him.i haven't received any response to my letter but after a couple of months he called me and i was very surprised and happy just hearing his voice on the other line makes me weak.he doesn't said anything about my letter if he received it or not and the phonecall was the last communicatin that we had.
luckily, because of friendster i'd been able to search and locate him.he still looks gorgeous and handsome as always.when i add him,his status was in a relationship but recently he changed it to single.i message him and he replied.i gave him my number but until now he doesn't give me a ring or text.
i really want to see him again, just thingking of him right now makes me feel the kilig the feeling that i thought i wouldn't have again.hope he still remember the old days and hope that we can be good friends now.

ebola reston virus

ebola reston virus was found in the hog farms on the 3 provinceshere in the country namely in bulacan, pangasinan and nueva ecija.all the hog farms were now in quarantine and if by any chance that they sell the meat to the market the DOH assures that it has no effect at all to people's health.and the DOH added that to make sure that the meat that they bought is safe they have to cook the meat properly because heat kills the virus.
however,no matter what the DOH says about the virus the fact that the meat has a virus,it's still have a psychological effect to me.to be safe i wouldnt eat meat and chicken for the meantime( because in hongkong 80,000 chicken was killed because of bird's flu).it is better to be safe than indulge myself to food that is not yet proven safe.
here are ome facts about ebola reston virus...

The Reston species of EBOV is unique in that it originated in Asia, while the other filoviruses have their origins in Africa. EBOV Reston emerged in 1989/90 as the causative agent of an epizootic among a group of cynomolgus monkeys (Macaca fascicularis) imported from the Philippines into the United States. Subsequently, at least two more introductions of EBOV Reston have occurred in the United States and Italy. Epidemiological investigations in the Philippines have documented active virus transmission in the primate export facility which was the source of all the shipments of infected monkeys. Despite pathogenicity for non-human primates, EBOV Reston has never been associated with any notable disease in man. However, serological investigations documented at least eight seroconversions among exposed animal handlers, which suggests that EBOV Reston infections in humans are infrequent and lead to either asymptomatic or subclinical courses

my grown-up christmas wish

Do you remember me,
I sat upon your knee,
and wrote to you with childhood fantasies.
Well I'm all grown up now,
And still need help somehow,
I'm not a child but my heart still can dream.
So here's my life long wish
My grownup Chirstmas list
Not for myself but for a world in need.

No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts.
Everyone would have a friend,
And right would always win,
And love would never end.
This is my grownup Christmas list.

As children we believed
The grandest sight to see,
Was something lovely wrapped beneath our tree.
Well, heaven surely knows
That packages and bows
Can never heal a hurting human soul.

Chorus

What is this illusion called innocence and youth.
Maybe only in our blind beleif can we ever find the truth.

No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts.
Everyone would have a friend,
And right would always win,
And love would never end.
This is my grownup Chrismas list.
This is my only lifelong wish.
This is my grownup Christmas list.

bibingka..a christmas food

Filipinos are familiar with this food, bibingka...
i really love this food and seeing that people are selling this on streets and malls it makes me feel that Christmas is getting near.
bibingka is made of rice flour(galapong)made from galapong, baked in a special clay pot, lined with a piece of banana leaf, with live coals on top and underneath. It is topped with slices of kesong puti (white cheese) and itlog na maalat (salted duck eggs) and it is usually served with butter or margarine on top and sugar is sprinkled over it and it is typically served with grated coconut.
here is one of bibingka recipe one from the many variations of bibingka.Enjoy..
Ingredients

1 cup thick galapong
1/2 cup white sugar
2 tsps. baking powder
2 tbsps. melted butter (My mom used regular hydrogenated margarine, out of a tub)
4 tbsps. sugar for topping
3 eggs, well-beaten
1 cup coconut milk
3 tbsps. grated cheese (Mom used Magnolia or Kraft processed yellow cheese; I’m more partial to using goat cheese and salted duck’s eggs)

To make galapong:

Soak rice in equal amounts of water overnight. Grind and let stand until the next day.

Note: We used a meat grinder.

For the bibingka:

1. Add sugar to the galapong.

2. Add baking powder, melted butter, and the well-beaten eggs and coconut milk. Mix well.

3. Pour a thin layer of this batter into a hot (native clay) baking pan or molds lined with banana leaves (which has previously been passed over an open flame, to soften the fibers).

4. Cover each baking dish with a galvanized iron sheet with live embers on it.

5. When almost cooked, sprinkle grated cheese and sugar on top of each — and cover again. Continue baking until brown; brush top of bibingka with melted butter and serve hot with grated coconut.

Note: If you want a more waxy, chewy “feel” to the bibingka, try mixing malagkit rice to make the galapong. For example, try the ratio of 1/4 cup malagkit rice to 3/4 cup regular rice.

field trip....

i was very exhausted when i came home last Nov.27 because of paricce field trip.we live in bulacan and the travel took us 3 long hours before we arrive to our first destination.we left at around 7am in the morning and we came at around 10am to airplane display and museum in villamore airbase.i love taking pictures of paricce so the first thing that i did was to take pictures of her in different places there.

after an hour touring at the place,we went to our second destination which is the pasig rain forest and from there after eating our lunch we went to their mini zoo, butterfly hatchery and some quick tour to the pasig rain forest park.paricce loves the zoo and she was amazed in everything that she saw.

after that we went to meralco museum and our last destination was the manila oceans park.because i was tired of taking care of paricce i didn't enjoy what i saw in oceans park all i really wanted at that time was to go home and sleep.

well, even i didn't enjoy the field trip at least i knew that paricce enjoys it and that was all that matters...
