Republic Act 8491
Section 20 states: “The rendition of the flag ceremony in official or civic gatherings shall be simple and dignified and shall include the playing or singing of the anthem in its original Filipino lyrics and march tempo.”
Section 37 states: “The rendition of the National Anthem, whether played or sung, shall be in accordance with the musical arrangement and composition of Julian Felipe.”
The law prescribes punishment for a violator of a fine of at least P20,000, or imprisonment of not more than one year.
Martin Nievera might face a prosecution over his incorrect rendition of the national anthem during the Pacquiao-Hatton fight.He sang the opening lines slowly like a ballad and repeated the lines in the manner of romantic crooners. Then he changed the notes and the pitch of the final lines, belting out high notes. And the tempo was not at all the march that Julian Felipe’s composition should be by tradition—and according to law.
The National Historical Institute is preparing to charge him.
Martin defended himself by stressing that he delivered the National anthem to the best of his abilities.It was his intention to sing and represent the country proudly before a global audience.
Here is Martin's statement:
"I cannot apologize for the way i sang it because no one told me about the rules nor the laws in the years past.didn't hear about any of these so-called laws when the others before me sang their versions.i didn't get the memo.i will not apologize for giving my all just to sing that song in front of the world.but i do apologize only to the people afraid of progress and change,of course to the lawmakers and to who ever else took offense to my interpretation of probably the most beautiful song i have ever come across.and to everyone else,god bless your open mind and open heart."
The singer ended his message with words,"still a proud Filipino,Martin Nievera".
From all over the world, most of those who saw and heard Mr. Nievera and wrote comments to newspapers and Internet blogs were appalled.Some complaints attacked Mr. Nievera with the accusation that perhaps he was using the event, witnessed by millions including record label talent scouts, to advertise his abilities as an American-style singer.I think Martin's rendition is very artistic.As an artist,he sang the national anthem very creatively and in the world of music the freedom of interpretation was there.
Well everybody is entitled for their own opinion but i still love Martin Nievera in spite all of the controversies.*winks*

timer starts now!!!!!
i received a call from my lawyer about the status of my case.
so after work, i went to her office and she discussed to me it's results.
as i expected, i got positive feedback on the case.
and again, for the nth time, my lawyer discussed the implications of this case, not only to my life but also to my daughter.
i can say that we are ready emotionally, physically and of course financially.
this is the battle that i should fight not only for myself, not for the money but for my daughter's right.
i haven't received any financial support this period, all i got was the money that i made for a referral to their company. so i guess this is finally it!!!
he pushed me to to do this!
he left me with no choice.
hope he enjoys his stay in jail.

mango ice box
Ingredients:
2 containers Argellanas
1 butter
1 cup powdered sugar
1 1/2 cups all-purpose cream
2 cups chopped mangoes
250 grams cashew nuts
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 mangoes, sliced
Directions:
1. Cream vanilla, butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
2. Add the all purpose cream slowly while continually beating.
3. Fold in chopped mangoes and 1 cup nuts.
4. Spread a little of the cream mixture in the bottom of the pan.
5. Arrange argellanas. Layer with the cream mixture.
6. For the top, arrange sliced mango and nuts decoratively.

We often times see ourselves in this situation, as the Psalmist experienced it long time ago! Lets challenge ourselves based on this memory versus from the Bible that will guide our paths as we enjoy our temporary journey here on earth. Remember, after life here on earth there is heaven and there is hell. If we have surrendered our lives in the Lord accepted him as our personal Lord and saviour Jesus Christ we are assured that we will be saved. Amen!

swine flu
last night,Richard told me about the swine flu outbreak.
i was very shocked on how this virus affects many people in the United States especially childrens.it's origin is still unknown and they are now trying to make a vaccine for this disease.
i am not really familiar with this but since it's now spreading here in Asia specifically in Hongkong.

i gathered some of the infos to have a better understanding of this disease.
when and where did it start?
The virus may have mutated into its current form months or even a year ago, and it happened, well, somewhere in the world.
The first symptoms started to show up in early March in the Mexican state of Veracruz, an area with a number of pig farms. The earliest confirmed case was a 5-year-old boy, one of hundreds of people in the town of La Gloria whose flu symptoms left them struggling to breathe.
People from La Gloria kept going to jobs in Mexico City despite their illnesses, and could have infected people there.
Still, there's no guarantee the virus came into existence in Veracruz. It spreads so easily, it could have made its way to Mexico from just about anywhere.
Some Mexican officials have offered some other suggestions of places where the virus may have begun, such as China, Pakistan or Bangladesh. But the fact is that the flu's origin remains a mystery.
Fortunately, it also doesn't really matter _ the outbreak has made its way around the world, and nothing can be done now at the point of origin to slow it down.

Demand for hand-washing products and face mask.
not touching the mouth, nose or eyes, as these are primary modes of transmission. When coughing, they recommend coughing into a tissue and disposing of the tissue, then immediately washing the hands.
Several countries have banned pork imports.but they say that there is no risk of flu transmission from the consumption of properly-cooked pork products.
Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
f you get sick with influenza,you should stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.
so even there is still no reported cases here in our country it's better to be safe than to have this disease.
